Under the heading, Chinese and Taiwanese Squiers, the CAE serial number states (No country). Both examples of these CAE Stratocasters I own, have a gold sticker with "Made in China" in black lettering. These are applied to the base of the neck near the body.

Under the heading "India Squiers," it should be noted that the VM series are marked "Crafted in India" on the rear of the head stock, and the serial numbers are not stickers, but printed and sealed on the rear of the head stock.

Made with E9 serial numbers. According to Tony Bacon (Squier Electrics) appeared in 1991. A joint effort by Fender Mexico using pickups by Cort (Indonesia) and bridges by Ping. Bodies made in Corona CA and shipped to Mexico for finishing. Shipped back to the US for final assembly. A one year offering only.

I'm thinking of buying a Korean Squier, but I'm not sure of its veracity, because its serial number is E415479, which would refer to 1984. And its headstock is Fender Contemporary style, black.Pic Headstock
